{Hoosier Momma Moments} Spring Disney Tips

While the months of spring break have passed, spring is still around for another month and there is plenty of time for a last minute getaway.

Keeping in check with my Disney vacation tips for Summer, Fall, and Winter, Disney in the spring is full of fun opportunities for you and your whole family.

Today I'll be talking about two amazing special events at Disney that I encourage you and your family to take advantage of this year!
The first event is the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. Like the fall's Food and Wine Festival, Flower and Garden takes over Epcot with special events daily in the Festival Pavilion featuring special guests from HGTV!

One of the coolest things about the Flower and Garden Festival are the amazing Disney Topiaries!!

We loved taking pictures with them--especially the Lion King topiary and the new Monster's University topiary.

New this year, the World Showcase will feature international food booths that serve fresh, locally grown, and organic food choices as well as harvest-derived beverages to showcase the incredible pros of growing your own food! (Try the food at the Mexico pavilion, to die for!!)

Here's a full list of all the food options!

With the warm spring weather, it will be the perfect time to walk around the Showcase tasting and drinking at some of my favorite places (We love the Margarita bar inside the Mexico pavilion and the Wine and Cheese room in Italy).

The Flower and Garden festival also is home to the Flower Power concert series. Everyone from the Village People to Hermits Hermits. Groovy!

The Flower and Garden festival will be going on from April 23rd through May 19th.

The spring at Walt Disney World is also host to the greatest celebration from a galaxy far far away. That's right, Star Wars Weekends!

These action packed weekends take place every Friday through Sunday from May 17th through June 9th.

You can get autographs signed by attending Star Wars celebrities (I recommend getting a FastPass for these as many many fans come out for these weekends!). There will be also special shows and presentations.

The daily parade will feature Star Wars characters and celebrities!

Some of your favorite Disney characters can be found dressed as your favorite Jedi knights, members of the Rebel army, and even a few from the Dark Side.

There is a great breakdown of events on the DIS boards, here.

One of the coolest things, the merchandise! Get a sneak peak here!

Justin and I have never been able to go to Star Wars weekends, but we hopefully will have made our move to Florida (that's right, MOVE!) in time for the last weekend. But, this will be the first Star Wars weekend since Disney merged with Lucas Films so it's bound to be AMAZING!

Let me know how fun it was! Tell me your adventures in the comments!
