I'm trying something new this month, I'm trying to cook in my Crockpot at least once a week. I've got a pretty amazing collection of recipes on this Pinterest board
, but there's one recipe that's my Go-To when I need to get dinner on the table and in no mood to cook!
This yummy Pork Roast almost didn't happen (thank's to my wonderful Man). But that's a story I'll share along the way.
Hungry? Let's get cooking.
All you need for this roast is the following:
1/2 tsp Garlic
1 Packet Lipton Onion Soup.
In your crock pot, put your meat at the bottom. I used a 2 pound Pork Tenderloin.
Put about a cup of water and a cup of wine in the pot, just enough to cover the meat about half way. Add a few dashes of the Worcestershire and Liquid Smoke. Empty the packet of Lipton Onion Soup. Add the garlic, salt and pepper to the top of the roast.
Cook it for 6-8 hours on High or 10-12 hours on Low.
By all means do not pour the entire bottle of wine in the cooker. I made this very clear to Justin, in fact I emphasized it roughly 3 or 4 times. He apparently heard DO when I said DO NOT and I came home from work last night to a roast in the Crockpot on "Warm" essentially soaking in a bottle of wine. The meat was purple and still cold in the middle.
The best part was that when he turned the Crockpot on, he thought turning the knob all the way to the right would make turn it to High. Of course on my pot, High is in the middle and Warm is used to simply keep food warm, not cook it.
I was so frustrated I yelled "You are NEVER cooking again!", something I immediately regretted. Maybe that was his plan all along.... Oh, he's good.
But, anyway, after a little finagling, the roast was saved and will be perfect for lunch today!
Look at how yummy! After all that time in the cooker, the meat shreds so easily and is delicious on hoagie rolls with a little BBQ sauce!
What's your favorite Crockpot recipe? I'd love to hear it! Share it with me in the comments!
Thanks for looking :)
