Get Connected!

It's been a little while since I've posted about some of my favorite things!

As many of you know, I'm a bit of a computer geek. Okay, more like computer obsessed. It's definitely something that drives Lincoln crazy and I'm working on it...

I spend a lot of my time (like this) at my desk, online blogging and surfing and, I like to think that I'm on the forefront of this crazy social media craze. It's the first thing I do when I wake up, and it's the last thing I do before I go to sleep.

The internet provides so many opportunities to interact with new people who share your common interests so here is a brief overview of three social media platforms that I am absolutely in love with!

1.) Tumblr

Have you ever been stumbling across the internet and run into a picture you think is amazing, or a song you can't get out of your head, or a video you think is hilarious? Tumblr gives you the ability to post whatever you find or interact with across the internet and share it with anyone online.

The best thing about Tumblr is that you can have multiple blogs dedicated to whatever you're passionate about. For example, my personal Tumblr is called Esca-later AllyGator but I also have a blog, Ally Borrowed Blue, that is only Bridal and Entertaining Inspiration.

If you find a blog you like, you follow them, and whatever they post shows up on your dashboard. If someone likes your blog, they follow it! It's that easy!

Over 29,000,000 people are on Tumblr all over the world so you are bound to find a blog that tailors perfectly to your needs! Whether they be Disney, Harry Potter, Shoes, or Fashion!

2.) Pinterest

Pinterest is essentially a online catalog of all the incredible things being posted online daily.

You set up virtual corkboards of your interests and, when you find something you really like and want to remember, you pin it to one of your boards.

This is a great platform for sharing multiple ideas at once. Say you're looking for decorating ideas for your home and you don't really know what you're looking for. You can browse other people's boards and pins for a little inspiration.

I use Pinterest on Ally Borrowed Blue to create inspiration boards. For example, you can check out this one on fun fall decorating tips!

3.) Twitter

Think of Twitter as a facebook status update on crack. It gives you the opportunity to send out information in literally seconds.

You can follow everyone from the President of the United States to the Disney College Program

It's also an opportunity for a little networking. I use Twitter to follow writers I love so keep up to date with what they're working on. I also follow many Disney people--including my class professors, my programs office, and professional internships--to keep me on top of all the events going on around here.

Twitter is as easy as chatting on Facebook and allow you to reach people all over the world. One of the coolest features of Twitter is you can see what topics are trending worldwide--meaning you can see what people all over the world are talking the most about.

It's a breaking news platform in many cases, keeping you in tune with people around you.

So there you have it, three social media platforms I'm totally obsessed with.

If you join any of these, come find me, stop by, and say hello! I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for looking!!
