{Green Living} 20 Amazing uses for Castile Soap

My New Years resolution was to live better--and to me that meant embracing the green side of things. I love our new green lifestyle--especially when it comes to cleaning. I don't feel like I have to put the baby in the other room when I mop the floor!

One of my favorite green products--that I use so very often--is Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap.

{Green Living} Green Laundry Pt. 2

Yesterday I discussed the importance of reading labels on laundry detergent and (hopefully) swaying you over to the green-side of things by ditching that conventional detergent!

Now that you have the tools of the trade, today we're going to be going over how to actually wash your clothes in a greener way!

{Green Living} Green Laundry Pt. 1

Did you do a double take on that title? I know I sure did.

{Green Living}: Vendors I Love: The Honest Company

This year, I made a commitment to a better lifestyle.

It all started with reading a fantastic book, that I would recommend to anyone, Healthy Child Healthy World by Christopher Gavigan. This book explores all the toxins we expose ourselves (and our children to) on a daily basis--exposing what really goes into those sweet-smelling baby soaps, what makes those adorable clothes flame retardant, and much much more!

This book inspired me to live a life and raise our child in an environment that is not only toxin-free but also environmentally friendly.
After reading, I realized we had already taken a first step towards a greener lifestyle by switching Maisy to cloth diapers. But periodically on the blog I will share some of my favorite green living tips (and how to do so on a budget!) Just look for posts labeled with the {Green Living} title tag!

Ready for some green tips? Let's get started with this!

{Hoosier Momma Moment} Making the Move to Cloth Diapers

To tell you all how we switched to cloth diapers involves telling you guys how Maisy became a bottle baby. When you're pregnant, all you do is plan for the next 18 years of your life with your little one. I know I did.

I spent nine months of my life planning how long I was going to breastfeed (6 months minimum), when we would start solids (5 months), when we would start potty training (18 months). No one ever ever ever suggested that my schedule would fall apart at the seams.

But it did, life happens. Here we go.
